Default Restricted ds450

Having been without a quad for the past 11 months I have finally returned to road legal quadbiking with the purchase of a new 2008 ds450x. Having presviously owned an 08 700r and a quadzilla 450rs both of which had the big 3 and were fairly rapid my new Ds seems very restricted in terms of throttle and power. Rumour has it there is a restrictor plate on the throttle body which is installed to make the quad conform with European power standards. Is there any other restriction i.e thumb throttle as at the moment I can only see 6k on the rpm dial and a top speed of 50 mph. I have heard about the "pink" wire mod but I have ordered a full Hmf, Uni filter and power commander so I will neglect that mod.

Any help or tips on general maintenance or things to look out for would be great.
Cheers

G

check the thumb throttle doesn't have a screw to limit travel. That's how my 700 was done and most others I know

De- restriction complete. Very impressed with the lengths Can-am went to do this and in general thebuild quality. I had to remove the plastic throttle linkage cover and spin the throttle body round. Then located the torx tamper proof screw that holds an l shaped plate that physically limits the travel of the throttle linkage. Then the thumb throttle screw had to be wound out as this limited it also. All in all a very nice quad to work on and can't wait to see the results tommorrow.
