Exclamation airbag jackets save lives

I recently purchased and airbag jacket on the internet from wairbag and I felt I should just tell you that had it not been for this airbag jacket I probably wouldn't be alive today to write this message. I bought having witnessed a terrible accident where the person wasn't lucky enough to walk away. I saw them demonstrated on tv news for motorcyclists and thought i'd investigate. It is surprising just how few people even know about these jackets let alone wear one! I have a friend who works at Basildon hospital who said she was fed up with trying to repair people who ride as there are just so many accidents.

Knowledge is power and these jackets need to be made not only known so people have the power of choice. How much money is spent trying to put people back together and then aftercare and perhaps benefits due to disabilities or picking up the pieces of someone not making it?

Lets get the message out there - that to wear an airbag jacket is cool - well I think so anyway and i'm cool!!! (so my wife says!)

Thing is a a fair few of the quad riders do where body armour when riding.

Guys that ride bikes that think that just leathers will protect them are the guys that need the persuading. The leathers only really protect you from cuts and things, not the actual impact.

great item, your torso will be saved but you'll have no arms attached to unzip it when you fall off

The jacket has elbow and shoulder CE armour and obviously does not preclude the rider from adding below waist protection. Like any sport one has to prepare oneself for eventualities. Sailors of fast dinghies ensure they don't fall into the sails, horse riders who fall ensure they head toward a close horse so that they don't get trampled but a following runner so it is with bike riders they should have preprogrammed into their brains an escape methodology.

I come off with my elbows in, fists under my helmet and scrunch into a somersault position. Body armour may prevent injury but it really hurts when you land on it. With the airbag it was a little like landing on a poorly sprung trampette. Bit of a bounce and the onto ones feet and walk away.

I wear Kevlar jeans and knee protectors. I don't like boots so wear track-shoes.

Good theory, if you have looked into it that much maybe you need to brush up on your riding skills I prefer not to fall off and only have an "exit" plan at "that" time trees can be a bit hard to move to do a scrunched up barrel roll with my elbows tucked in.
Here's one of me with amateur dramatics thrown in to demonstrate

Always ways to improve i agree!

If wearing an airbag jacket protects my vital organs and gives me more than just a chance then i'm for it..........
everyone to their own thing but I for one want to give myself the best possible chance.
