Good service should come as standard. If you buy Tesco's own brand mince pies you don't expect them to not have any mince in because they are cheaper.

Insurance companies should be competative, offer a good service as standard & have a sensible excess of, say, £250. No nonsense and honour legitimate claims as per their advertising claims.

Yes, if you could prove one insurance company which was £50 or £75 more expensive than the others was much better, honoured claims and paid out within a week or so as standard I would pay the extra. Don't see how you could prove that though????

E.G. my car is insured with Tesco insurance, every year for the past 6 years they have bumped me at renewal time. I phone up and get put through to the "dedicated" customer hotline for existing customers. Result was £56 knocked off the renewal price and a £30 voucher through the door in 3 weeks time too.

Now if I were that important a customer and had been "loyal" to them surely they would see that and price accordingly, or do you think they just like talking to me

Agree with earlier point about having to have insurance to be legal. They have us by the balls, as we can't go out to play without it
