much room with 2 in it ?
It's 'cozy', but not uncomfortable, the brakes almost seem central inhe car so the passenger ha to angle teir feet off to the left, but thats not really big problem.

Did you test drive one before buying it?
il be very intrested in your views when you take it out for a spin. theres a few videos on youtube of theses bugs,
but would like your review when you do.

Bob

I didn't, no.
but more often than not I buy with my heart rather than my head

I've just spent a couple of hours on it tonight...
I did find one thing which really concerned me (which I will feed back to the dealers), was that the gear linkage connection onto the gearbox itself was loose.
And I mean really really loose!.
Tightening this would and seems to have really helped the gear selection, as I assume previously it was just taking up the 'slack' in the linkage and stopping me from actually selecting anything.
I pulled back the gaitor on the selector box, and I see what you mean about over-shooting reverse... I've now sanded down the paint, and I'll bond a metal plate to it tomorrow night just to stop it travelling too far.

Sound to me, as these bugs need a check over before you take one out for a spin.
Am I right that the main points being noticed so far are?

To fit something to help the gear selector
Replace all the grease nipples (and check there is grease in there)
Check wheel bearings for grease.
A metal plate is needed to protect the battery from the exhaust pipe?
Change the tail pipe for something better that lets the gas out quicker
And tighten everything nut and bolt in sight.

Cheers Bob

Ps, I still want one, but I wouldn’t trust Meredith’s in Bristol. As a dealer.
So I will need a recommended dealer please?
