| | New Rl500 Owner Well, I don't strictly own it yet! but it's somewhere in the process of being built.
I've ordered it through 'on road buggys ltd' on ebay, has anyone had experience of these guys?
From reading on here it looks like I might need to brace myself for a couple of issues, being the cush drives and melting batteries
Sounds like fun already!
I do intend on using this on road as well as off road, but I'd like it's pace to be usable, I've heard varying stories of the top speed, but seem to be settling my expectations around the 50mph mark.
Is this rev-restricted? or is there some other restriction? I've seen references to a pin in the carb? but not sure if anyone has done this yet?
Anyway, I'm clearly jumping the gun here, but thought I'd pop on and say hi!
I'll post up a couple of pics when it turns up |

| | Re: New Rl500 Owner Hi, I am also a new RL500 Mk2 Owner. I brought mine second hand from a car dealer in Cambridgeshire. Looks like it had a had a bit of a prang as the spare wheel has a hole shot right through the alloy rim and the steering whel binacle is missing and is wrapped in a polythene bag. Had a really good days offroad last weekend, performance in the mud is terrific. Just taxing and insuring it today for some road action !
So I gather that 50 is about all they will do ? Has anyone tried the heavier CVT sliding weights that they sell on Ebay? Do they improve the top speed, pick up etc ?
Will probably make some custom parts for mine so when I have and anyone want's copies I will post some pics. Thinking first about a heavy duty front chequerplate sump guard as mine is already all bent up.
Who'e the best for Quadzilla parts and does anyone have a spare wheel and tyre ? |
