| | Quadzilla XLC300E owner review Thought I would give others the benefit of my experience
My first quad was the above, it was a 56 plate in black .
I liked it, was good to ride, handled very well with good brakes and comfort, I did about 1500 miles in 6 months on it with the only faulty part being the thermostatic switch on the cooling fans, £30 and 5 minutes put that right .
It was used for green laning and road and proved quite capable at both, top speed with mods was indicated 69mph and acceleration reasonable, it did lack grunt though and needed to be revved hard which is typical of small capacity twin cylinder four strokes, it averaged 65 mpg .
The mods included .
QZ full stainless steel performance exhaust system
DT1 air filter
Carb upjetted one size
Rear sprocket down two teeth
Nerf bars
Bumper
I did fit a larger (by 1 tooth) front sprocket but I would NOT recommend doing this as it places the chain too close to the engine case and there is no case saver fitted, I reverted back to the standard front sprocket .
The mods did make a noticeable difference to the overall performance but these engines are not designed to give much power in the first place which is why they are not restricted as such .
One area to keep an eye on is the rear brakes pads, they wear out in no time at all if you use the parking brake, the adjusters on them do not slacken off fully when the brake is released, I slackened mine right off so it did not work and just parked with the wheel against the kerb to stop rolling or on the level in first gear, this will save you having tom replace the pads every couple of hundred miles
As a starter quad for someone who is on a tight budget I would say they are good but owners will get bored quickly with the lack of performance from such small engines, my advice is not to waste your money on all the bling stuff like alloy wheels etc and put it towards your first decent quad purchase .

| | Re: Quadzilla XLC300E owner review As I said Jim, the only fault was the thermostatic switch, I have to say it was built well, good welds all over and it took some off road abuse as it should .
I will get a picture on tonight .

I will get a picture on tonight . | i can vouch for this info aswell, my first bike was an xlc 300 and it never let me down, it went through everything i chucked at it i even had it waist deep under water and it still kept going never stalled once. the one downside i did find was that they are under powered on road and easy to outgrow once uve got the quaddin bug hence why i swapped mine for a raptor 700. overall though i would recommend a quadzilla to any first time buyers, very reliable, parts are ready available and are cheap to fix also cheap to run and insure :t humbup:

That Berlingo was a great motor, very reliable and carried so much stuff, not glamourous but a good workhorse .
