Question no power to coil, no spark

    need some help.....

im having trouble getting my ltz to start, put it away in the garage end of november it was running fine. went to start it last weekend and nothing.

ignition works, all lights ect work.

it turns over fine battery is fully charged reading 13v and drawing about 11.5v when its turning over

pulled the plug out and theres no spark, tried a different plug and still nothing.

ive tested the lead going to the coil and theres no power getting to it when the engines turning over.

traced the wire all the way back to the cdi and its not grounding anywhere.

i have a friend who works for crescent suzuki and he thinks its the pick up coil.

so i tested the wires coming from the stator housing, the 3 brown which are alternator i think are reading 12 volts but the other three i dont get a reading from, should these be getting a voltage reading?

ive ordered a new pick up coil but its coming from America as suzuki only do the whole generator assembly!

i only have the run/off switch on there if its off the starter wont work so pressume its not this?

im worried once i fit a new pick up coil nothing will change.

am i missing something simple and stupid?

    any help/advice much appreciated

Think you'd be better off getting a copy of the service manual, all voltages and resistance values will be in that

Thanks for the reply guys and the welcome!

i went ahead and got a new pick up coil, fitted it today and as i expected still nothing. i also brought myself a clymer manual.

ive done all the ignition tests they explain and everything seeems to point to the CDI, is it common for these to go wrong its a sealed units so i cant see how anything can go wrong with it.

ive done a peak voltage and resistance test on the ignition coil and the pick up coil. pick up coil tests fine, ignition coil resistance is fine, however the ignition coil peak volatge reads 0. In the manual this says i need to replace the CDI. It basically to me seems like the CDI isnt putting out any voltage to the ignition coil.

the last thing i want to do is buy a new CDI and it still not work!!!
