raptors r good mate but if its ur 1st one try some thing a bit smaller cc as they DONT HANDLE NOTHING LIKE A BIKE AT ALL so get used 2 a smaller 1 b4 u jump on the big boys toys, or just go for it an get a raptor an b carefull, if u dont treat em right they will **** you, ask many peeps on here they do bite if u miss treat em.
dont forget the hondas and suzukis tho mate, the honda 450, suzuki 450 and yam 450 will beat most 700/660 raptors hands down but these are more race quad speced.
if its just for road riding u carnt beat a 700 rap they will sit on dual carridgeways at top end for long unlike a 450 they will go bang if ur top end riding. |

as ur leanin towards the rap get it u will love it its a great bike, everyone has they own choice, personnly i find my 450 way lighter than a 700, much wider as standard than a 700 quicker than a 700 and 2 me rides much better than a 700 so now i reckon ive confused u more ah ... :001_uns ure: |

I agree, everybody does have their own opinion:w00t:, wether its right or wrong (unless can be proven factually) is down to individual user taste/judgement etc...
its still an interesting debate, if the 400/450's of the world are lighter, faster, wider, more nimble etc, then why bother buying a Raptor? do we really need 600, 700, 800 or even 1000cc quad bikes? | the only reason i can think of buying a raptor and im not taking the piss is the fact they have the biggest engine so people think there the fastest, it has reverse and also it is good sitting at top end without blowing up apart from that can u think of anything else ??? |

| | | Re: advice on quad bikes The quad bikes mentioned ie the LTR450 and raptor 700 etc are all in band 7 of insurance and basically got told that they would insure me 3rd party only or not at all unless I drove for a year so as per my original post will be saving up in the mean time and get some extra driving time under my belt and fingers crossed they will insure me a year down the line or so.
Also they wanted a brick built garage as obviously with it being an expensive asset they want it stored somewhere safe for obvious reasons. |

| | Re: advice on quad bikes If they want a want brick built garage go and ebay and search for cardboard boxes !! That should put their mind at ease .
Dont understand why they cant insure you fully comp ? If the bike its worth more than 5k fully comp is a minimum no ?
I think what LTR is trying to say is that the Raptor is the 330ci of bikes , fast but heavy where the 450 are more race inspired like a honda s2000 . The Honda will always be faster in the twisties but the Bmw would be a more pleasant place to be .
1.You gottta ask yourself , how much off road would you be doing ? ( buy an OS map and see how many lanes you got in your area )
2.Are you racer or a cruiser ?
Theres no denying the raptor is brilliant but off road the 450's are pretty much 20% better
On road the raptor would just cruise at silly speed and you got reverse !
Hope I make sense ________________________
