Default Sprocket & Chain sizes

Im about to upgrade my axle to a durablue eliminator so thought might aswell do my sprockets and chain. All of my riding is off road quarries etc but will be putting it on the road summer next year. Should i go with a 12t front, what about the back not decided on this. How do i work out how many links in the chain i want, is there a calculation etc?

Most of the time im in 1st,2nd and 3rd gear never get into 4th. Whats a good combination if i still want to keep a good top end speed?
What do use all ride with

Just get same length chain as you have now (or longer if you have to), if you can't get the adjustment you need for the sprox you get, just knock a link (or ten) out of chain till it works ;)

Im gona go with 13t front and a 40 rear, its currently 13 front 42 rear. Been told this will increase my acceleration and keep a my top end speed, is this right. How many links would that be then. Anyone seen or ridden on renthal R4 atv chain?

yeah, that sprocket pair will put it back to standard, you will lose a little top end, but as you never get out of 3rd, you won't know the difference

You may be be able to drop 2 teeth with same length chain as you have now, like I said, just buy same length/longer and chop it to suit

email sent with quad sprox calculator;)
